Position Title: Finance & Program Director
Reports To: CEO
Pay Range: $40,000 – 45,000 + Healthcare Stipend
Work Schedule: Full-Time 32 hours, Core hours are Monday-Thursday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
(Must be able to work a flexible schedule, which may include early mornings, evenings, and weekends. An occasional 40-hour work week during special events and meetings.)
Key Responsibilities /Essential Functions
To support the needs of the United Way of Yavapai County and our county wide community partners. The major responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
- Community Investment/Collective Impact Funding Cycle management
- Oversee actions and performance of UWYC Bookkeeper daily
- Recruit and manage volunteers
- General office management
- Event planning, promotion, set-up/wrap-up
This position will have a variety of people and community agencies to work with and the required ability to multitask and communicate with others regularly. Support UWYC’s commitment to providing excellent customer service by facilitating communication and relationship-building with diverse community partners and key stakeholders (local organizations, businesses, and individuals). Independently manage multiple tasks and projects with competing priorities and deadlines for the United Way of Yavapai County’s office. Provide leadership and organization in the following areas:
PROGRAMS:
- Manage the relationship with agencies, including assessment of detailed applications and financial statements in preparation of funding recommendations and reports.
- Identify organizational, governance, financial and/or program delivery issues with agencies and assist in developing a plan of resolution.
- Assist in community problem-solving initiatives and collaborative efforts with agencies, community organizations and funders with respect to relevant social service issues.
- Propose relevant classes for the Center for Organizational Excellence (COE): support the coordination and administration of these classes.
- Stay current with and understand social and community issues, assess government funding initiatives and policies, and recommend appropriate roles and responses for UWYC.
FINANCE:
- Daily overview and accountability of bank accounts, pledges and operations expenses.
- Oversee actions and performance of Bookkeeper.
- Track and confirm pledges and donations.
- Record or prepare and take bank deposits to banking facility.
- Assist and/or review monthly finance reports for Finance Committee and Board of Directors.
VOLUNTEER PROGRAM:
- Provide promotional and recruitment for community volunteers and partners who participate in supporting agencies or projects with the United Way team.
- Manage in-house volunteers.
- Attend fairs and community events geared to recruit volunteers as well as promote UWYC.
- Oversee seasonal Grant Review Committee volunteers: recruit, train and support all aspects of program management.
OPERATIONS/OFFICE MANAGEMENT:
- Manage the administrative staff collaboratively with the CEO and under the direction of CEO: fully manage the administrative staff in the absence of CEO.
- With the team, assist in preparing year-end audit support schedules.
- Respond to ad hoc organizational requests and/or special projects.
- Coordinate with and support other divisions in a manner that will meet organizational objectives.
- Perform dual custody of mail when needed.
EVENTS PLANNING:
- Organize and attend/lead workshops, meetings, educational, and Volunteer events.
- Event planning, promotion, set-up/wrap-up.
- Assist with the development of business relationships and solicit silent auction items (gifts and donations) for
special events; to include sponsorships and in-kind donations. - Liaise with venues, caterers, distributors, local businesses and maintain a communications log/contact.
- Create a budget with the CEO & Bookkeeper.
