Course Title: Yavapai Connects: Governance and fiscal responsibilities of Board Members and Executive Staff of Non-Profit Organizations.
WHEN and WHERE: October 18th, 7am to 1pm, at the Prescott Resort. Event will include breakfast, lunch, and networking. $50 per person to attend. 200 are expected. Register early!
Course Description: This class is formed for Board Presidents and Executive Directors to attend together. The content will focus on Board Governance and fiscal responsibilities and include sample policies and procedures designed to eliminate and mitigate opportunity for malfeasance.
Attendees will receive a certificate of training from United Way of Yavapai County.
Background: Arizona Community Foundation and United Way of Yavapai County are partnering together, along with our Local Chambers Of Commerce, to present a training session that is intended to ensure our Non-Profit Partners across Yavapai County are led by Leaders who know their role, and can best direct the organizational growth of their agency while protecting the donor and mission thru a series of best practices; the latest, proven, policies and procedures.
Presenters include:

- Mr. Polk is very well versed in NPO Board Roles and the Legal issues surrounding Board Leadership. Currently, Mr. Polk is Chairman of the Board for Polara Health and Vice-Chair for ACF of Yavapai County’s Board of Advisors. Stephen is a partner with Boyle, Pecharich, Cline, Whittington & Stallings Law Firm.
