United Way of Yavapai County 2022 Grant Program & Its Impact on the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Arizona
The United Way of Yavapai County (UWYC) provides grants each year to nonprofit organizations within Yavapai County in order to improve access to services for those in need. In 2022 they awarded a grant to BGCCAZ specifically for a van which will allow them to expand outreach efforts within Prescott and Prescott Valley as well as enhance existing recreational programs offered by BGCCAZ such as soccer tournaments or field trips. With this grant from UWYC, more youth will now have access to educational opportunities such as after school clubs or summer camps as well as recreational activities such as sports leagues or outdoor adventures. In addition, this grant also helps create opportunities for members at different sites across Prescott and Prescott Valley who may not otherwise be able interact with each other due to transportation limitations. Overall this grant is helping increase awareness about what BGCCAZ provides while also allowing more youth the opportunity take part in the organization’s offerings.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Arizona 2021-2026 Strategic Plan
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Arizona (BGCCAZ) has developed a 2021-2026 Strategic Plan that has five key components that they believe will help strengthen their programming and community partnerships. Their vision is to be “the premier provider of quality programs for children and teens in central Arizona communities” by focusing on five key areas which include Programming Excellence, Enhancing Community Partnerships, Building Exceptional Infrastructure, Growth and Sustainability. Each area focuses on specific goals designed to help BGCCAZ better serve the needs of their members. For example, one goal for Programming Excellence is to offer “safe places where children can learn, explore interests, discover talents, build relationships with peers and adults, develop leadership skills and strive to reach their full potential”. By focusing on these five areas over the next five years BGCCAZ hopes that their services can have a more positive impact on their members.
In conclusion it is clear that both organizations are working together towards a common goal – improving access to resources for youth in Prescott and Prescott Valley – with great success! The strategic plan developed by BGCCAZ combined with funds received through UWYC Grants Program has enabled them increase outreach efforts while providing educational programs such as after school clubs or summer camps along with recreational activities like sports leagues or outdoor adventures throughout Yavapai County. It is important that we continue supporting nonprofits like BGCACZ so they can continue providing these types services for our local communities!
