    Board Governance with Annie Davies

    About Annie Davies

Annie Davies is a Midwest transplant who has called the west home since leaving to pursue an MPA at the University of Colorado. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan and has 20 years of experience in the nonprofit and public sectors. Davies began her nonprofit career in Seattle at the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. She worked in higher education at both Grand Valley State University (GVSU) and the University of Colorado (CU). Davies also served on the executive leadership team at Rocky Mountain Human Services, a $45M nonprofit that serves individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities and veterans with traumatic brain injury (TBI). Davies subsequently worked as an independent consultant, assisting Craig Hospital with fundraising/program transition, the University of Colorado Denver as director of the executive MPA and as program director for the Rocky Mountain Leadership Program for local government executives. In August 2017, Davies was selected as the President & CEO of the United Way of Larimer County where she turned an operating deficit into a six-figure surplus in nine months, focused on operational efficiency and completed a mission-based move to increase childcare for low-income families. Davies left the United Way of Larimer County to join the team at United Way Worldwide in 2020. In this role, she provides board and executive consultation to 130 United Ways in the western United States and creates national partnerships and trainings to advance the United Way network.

Davies is a graduate of the Denver Community Leadership Forum, a volunteer with the Gerontology Society, a past steering committee member for the Impact100 Metro Denver philanthropy group, and was named to Denver’s Forty Under 40 list in 2013.
